From Mobitouch cube
A bonus content is a particular content that will be sent by the node according to desired probability and amount of messages.
The total available probability can be set up to 100 (100%).
At the very beginning, a new bonus content is always set at the maximun available probability.
A maximum amount can be set for each content.
This parameter sets how many times the node will push that specific content.
Checking Unlimited amount option will keep on sending that content, always respecting the desired probability percentage.
Scenario 1
A possible scenario can be a lottery where 5% of the people is supposed to win something, while the other 95% is supposed to receive a retry message ("have another go").
In this case it's enough to set the winner content with 5% of probability, while the other one with 95%.
If both have unlimited capacity, the lottery always run with the specified probabilities.
If the User is interested in limiting the winner messages, it's possible to set a specific maximum amount for that content. When it finishes, only losing messages will be sent.
Otherwise, if also losing content has limited amount no bonus content will be sent, unless the user specifies a default bonus content (i.e. "lottery is closed").
Scenario 2
The Bonus policy allows you to configure a campaign where the content delivered are randomly chosen among a set of bonus content.
You can for example add to the campaign content list 20 different bonus content, each one with a probability of 5%.
In this situation any time the units executing the campaign comunicate with a mobile phone they send one of the 20 different content.
In such a situation is it possible to use a very small Success Black List Time cause each time a unit executing the campaign contacts a phone it sends one of the 20 random content and most likely each time a different one .
How it works
Set Bonus options in the Extra feature section, in the bottom part of content configuration window.
Set desired probability and desired amount.
Application notes
It is possible to assign the bonus type associated to simple, class or a fingerprint content.
Type of Contents
Different content types can be mixed in the same campaign (for instance it is possible to set a standard content and a bonus content in the same campaign).
The type of a single content cannot be both bonus and two-way messaging.
Very important
- The total probability of all the bonus content deployed must be 100.
If the total probability is not 100, the whole campaign cannot be saved.
- The Default options is used to send a content when all the other bonus ones are finished.
It's not possible to set one content with a limited probability, like 10%, then a second one as default. The campaign won't be saved.
Both the content must have a fixed probability, up to 100% as total.
- It's not possible to add a Default, if the Unlimited amount option of one of the other bonus has been set.
Node assignment
When assigning nodes to a campaign containing one or more bonus content, each node receives the maximum basic configuration.
From next node's synchronization, each node works with its own configuration.
For example, after setting a campaign with one content with 10% of probability and another one with 90% of probability, if the User deploys the campaign on 2 or more nodes, each node will receive the two content, each of them with the specified probability.
The User should pay attention that this does NOT mean that the total amount of bonus content is shared among all nodes.
This is true even when setting the maximum amount of the bonus content.
If a bonus content has a maximum amount of 20, this means that every single node will send that content up to 20 times.
(If deploying that campaign on 3 nodes, the total amount of bonus content for the campaign will be 3 x 20 = 60.)
